My Story

Garcia Jen Stone is the creative mind and heart behind Geez Easy Cooking. What began as a love for family recipes has grown into a mission: to make soulful, flavorful cooking easy and enjoyable for everyone.
Inspired by her African and Portuguese roots, Garcia shares authentic recipes in her cookbook that have been passed down through generations. Each dish carries the warmth of her great-grandmother’s kitchen and the creativity of her mother, who began cooking at just five years old.
Geez Easy Cooking celebrates food made with love, fresh garden herbs, and honest ingredients. Garcia believes that anyone can cook amazing meals when they have the right guidance and a little confidence. Her recipes teach you how to use natural flavors, make smooth gravies and sauces, and enjoy soulful meals that taste rich without costing much.

My Mission

My mission is simple: to help people discover the joy and confidence that cooking can bring. Healthy, flavorful meals don’t need expensive ingredients or complicated steps. Through Geez Easy Cooking, I want to teach new cooks how to use original herbs, balance spices, and prepare yummy meals and sauces from scratch that make them proud. Apart from that, I want to change how people see cooking. It’s not a chore. It is an act of love, a way to connect generations, and a daily reminder that what we eat can heal, comfort, and bring us joy.

A Note to New Reluctant Cooks Out There

If you’ve ever stared at a recipe and thought, “I could never make that,” or “I would mess this up,” this book is for you. You don’t need fancy tools or years of experience to create something delicious, fulfilling, and hearty. Every dish in Geez Easy Cooking was written with beginners in mind.
This means that you will find:
Step-by-Step Instructions: Recipes are written clearly so first-time cooks can follow them with confidence.
Healthy Made Simple: Ways to reduce oils, use fresh herbs, and build intense flavors naturally.
Cultural Blend: Recipes that have the perfect harmony of African Soul food and Asian Fusion cooking.
And don’t be afraid to make mistakes!
So don’t worry if your first sauce splits or your veggies come out a little too soft. We have all been there, too. Honestly, that’s how real cooks are made. Every small mistake teaches you something new, and each lesson brings you one step closer to cooking with confidence and joy.
